Fascinating thread: community.openstreetmap.org/t/gulf-of…

Burnside Bridge, Antietam National Battlefield, earlier today. Beautiful spot, I’m only a little sad I can’t do some fly fishing here.

A stone bridge with arches spans a partially frozen river, surrounded by snow-covered trees and landscape.

Random (minor) predictions for 2025

  • Mozilla continues random experiments instead of doubling down of Firefox.
  • Kagi announces a new partner.
  • TextExpander seeks new model amidst growing competition.
  • Raycast makes an acquisition.
  • FastMail acquires FMail2, or at least buys the developer a coffee.
  • RSS enjoys tiny uptick in popularity. Nobody pays much attention.
  • Flipboard resurgence.
  • Chrome is spun off, but nobody can articulate how this helps.
  • Tai Chi is popular again.
  • Suddenly, there are so many social/feed aggregation services.
  • The U.S. government is required to use X by executive order.
  • Passkey adoption remains weak.
  • Apple acquires Craft.

It feels like we are in a new era of browser choice (Zen, Orion, Arc, Vivaldi, etc.). I would love to see OmniWeb come back.

Second try! Well, that was fun. kottke.org/24/12/004…
